About Me

My name is Anne but all my friends call me Annie. I named my site AnnieAnnie.com because I thought it would be easy to remember ... and no one had the domain name yet. I didn't want to use my full name because it sounded too formal and I didn't want the people who visit my site to think I'm just another stuffy old photographer. I'm soo not one of those, I just love to have fun! So AnnieAnnie just plain sounded more fun and that's what I ended up with.

I'm married to a skinny guy with brown hair and glasses named Tim. That's how I describe him to the hostess at every restaurant that we go to. I have to describe him because he likes to drop me off at the door so I can get our name on the seating list while he parks the car. It never fails that the hostess will march me deep into the far recesses of the restaurant immediately, even though I tell her that my husband will be right in ... as she disappears into the sea of people demanding "follow me please". So I always have to tell the hostess "watch for a skinny guy with brown hair and glasses named Tim and be sure to tell him where you seated me!" And you know, those hostesses never do watch for him. I end up sitting alone for several minutes while stretching my neck in the general direction of the front door so I can see over the people and watch for him myself. Amazing though ... even though there are a lot of skinny bespectacled guys in the world, I can spot my husband in a dark, crowded restaurant as if he was the only skinny guy there. Now that's love.

I have two beautiful daughters with wonderful husbands, one beautiful step-daughter, five totally cool grandchildren and one fairly large 75 pound granddog.

In November 2007 we adopted a little girl puppy named Kitsi. She's a Shih Tzu, brown and white and the cutest ball of fun and fur I've ever seen. She's a total 'girly girl', has a sparkling personality, but she's very shy around people she doesn't know. She'll sit in front of my lens and model for me for treats and the stock photos of her sell really well! I'm so happy that I found her, she's been a wonderful addition to our little family and I can't imagine life without her anymore.

My Hometown

I live in a small town in Northern Kentucky, USA, south of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. Since we live high on a ridge we have a stunning view of downtown Cincinnati, about 8 miles away, from our front lawn. Each night the city lights glow in the distance and since Cincinnati rests on the banks of the Ohio river, we have the added pleasure of watching the fireworks shows on July 4th and Labor Day each year. From our back deck we have a panoramic view of the Licking River valley and the tiny homes tucked into the trees of the distant ridge on the opposite side of the river and most nights we witness spectacular sunsets that sometimes take our breath away. I'm always reminded of the song by Karen Carpenter where she sings "I'm at the top of the world looking down on creation" ... and I think "How did I get so lucky?".

About The Curler Woman Image

Who says I'm not fun? OK, that's me, you guessed it. This is one of a series of images that I made in May 2006. I was in a really goofy mood that day. It was a bright, overcast day and the light seemed right so I decided to play around with my camera for awhile near the window wall in the back of the house. I got out some curlers that were stashed away in the guest bath vanity drawer and placed them randomly in my dry hair, put on some lipstick and mugged for the camera. Hey, it's entertainment, you know? I set up a white background, sat on the floor with my lens at arms length in front of me and used my shutter release cable. Half way through the fun it got pretty warm in the room so I got myself a glass of pink juice, that's what's in the glass. It was a bit tart ... and the rest is history.

The photo of my husband? Sometimes he's just bored with the entire modeling gig. Yawn.
